Magnolia Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 packet vanilla extract
1 packet baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional: grated lemon zest or vanilla extract
For the cream:
2 cups milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 egg yolk
1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, beat eggs, add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, prepare the cream by mixing milk, sugar, flour, and egg yolk in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Once the cake is baked and cooled, spread the prepared cream over the top.
Optionally, sprinkle shredded coconut on top before serving.
